Ciyun Temple Scenic View Introduction
Ciyun Temple, built in 1919, was established due to the beautiful scenery and spiritual atmosphere of Alishan, resembling the sacred site of Vulture Peak in India. The temple enshrines a statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, crafted from copper on the outside and adorned with gold dust on the inside, showcasing a solemn Buddhist ambiance, and the statue is known as the "Thousand-Year-Old Buddha." Ciyun Temple is not only a famous religious site in Alishan but also an excellent viewpoint to appreciate the sea of clouds, sunset glow, and beautiful sunsets over Alishan. Standing inside the temple, the view is expansive, allowing a distant gaze towards the Alishan settlement and Tower Mountain, with picturesque scenery that captivates visitors. Additionally, Ciyun Temple is one of the starting points to the Giant Tree Ruins Trail. In the evening, walking along the trail, the sunset casts golden rays on the clouds, and the golden shadows flow gently with the wind, resembling dancing waves, tranquil yet magnificent, allowing one to immerse in the harmonious beauty of nature and culture.
