The Fengliu Cave Trail (Haunted House Section) is closed. You can traverse through the bamboo forest next to the haunted house to reach a small waterfall. Continuing along the stream, you will find two Lover's Caves, one large and one small. The Lover's Cave consists of two adjacent natural rock cavities by the stream, which are commonly referred to as "Fengliu Cave" by the locals. While the natural rock caves themselves do not understand romance, the name "Fengliu Cave" is said to originate from the customs of the Tsou people regarding marriage through service. When a man intends to marry, he must work for the woman's family for three years, during which time both parties cannot stray, leading to couples seeking refuge in these caves to express their affection. Therefore, Fengliu Cave serves as a historical witness to the unique marriage customs of the Tsou people!

Fengliou Cave Trail Introduction

The Fengliou Cave Trail (Haunted House Section) is closed. By passing through the bamboo forest beside the Haunted House, you can reach a small waterfall. Continuing downstream along the creek, you will find two Lover's Caves, one large and one small. The Lover's Cave consists of two adjacent natural rock cavities by the stream, commonly referred to as "Fengliou Cave" by locals. The natural caves do not understand romantic affairs, yet the name "Fengliou" is said to derive from a tradition among the Tsou people known as "service marriage." When a man intends to marry, he must first work for three years at the woman's family home, during which neither party is allowed to breach the boundaries. Therefore, lovers would come to these caves to meet, making Fengliou Cave a historical witness to the unique marriage customs of the Tsou people!
