Duban Memorial Museum Introduction

The Dubamen Memorial Museum is located in Yanban Lane, Wutai Township. Teacher Dubamen is a national treasure woodcarving artist, and many totem sculptures of the Wutai Rukai people are based on his works. The museum serves as an art center dedicated to preserving his works and is currently managed by his son. Outside the museum, there is a "Ancestral Spirit Seat," a chair reserved for men, used to hang hunting knives and guns. It is important to note that women are strictly prohibited from approaching or sitting on it; violating this rule can result in the hunting knives and guns no longer being able to catch prey. This attraction is only open to overnight guests and requires prior reservation. To enter Wutai Township, a mountain entry permit must be obtained, and large buses are prohibited from entering. A recommended stay time of about 30 minutes is suggested, and remember to call in advance to make a reservation to avoid disappointment.
