Duban Male Memorial Museum Introduction

The Duban Memorial Hall is located in Yanban Township, Wutai. Teacher Duban is a national treasure-level wood carving artist, and many of the carved totems of the Wutai Rukai people are derived from his works. The art center preserves a collection of his works and is currently managed by his son. Outside the memorial hall, there is a "Ancestral Spirit Seat," a chair that only men can sit on, which is used to hang hunting knives and guns. It is important to note that women are absolutely forbidden to approach or sit down; if they do, it is believed that the hunting knives and guns will no longer be able to hunt game. This attraction is only open to overnight guests, and prior reservation is required. Entry into Wutai requires obtaining a mountain entry permit, and Class A large buses are prohibited from passing. It is recommended to stay for about 30 minutes, and remember to call in advance to make a reservation to avoid disappointment.
