Rukai Tribe Museum Introduction
The Rukai Indigenous Museum is located in Zhongshan Alley, Wutai Village, Wutai Township. It opened in 2000 and consists of three floors, primarily collecting and showcasing traditional artifacts of the Rukai people, reflecting the diversity of Rukai culture. The museum is built using modern construction methods and slate houses, with walls themed around traditional Rukai dances, preserving the authentic Rukai culture. The first floor is mainly for exhibition activities, with temporary exhibitions being held periodically. The second floor showcases Rukai artifacts, while the exterior of the second floor features a slate house of traditional Rukai architecture, displaying an intact layout and simple equipment, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of slate house culture and experience the unique features of slate house architecture, which is warm in winter and cool in summer. A suggested visit duration is about 1 hour. The museum is closed on Mondays, and an entry permit is required to enter Wutai Township; Class A large buses are prohibited from passing through.
