Zhongshan Park Introduction
Zhongshan Park is located in the Zhongshan Park area of Sandimen Township (across from the Sandimen Township Office). It was the site of the Martyrs' Shrine during the Japanese colonial period and was transformed into a park after the retrocession of Taiwan. It is a must-visit spot for first-time visitors to Sandimen. The park's outer wall features sixty hexagonal basalt slabs, which illustrate the mythological stories and life events of the Paiwan people, conveying the trajectory of historical and cultural continuity. A prominent landmark within the park is the giant representation of the "Three Treasures of the Paiwan," made up of glass beads, a ceramic pot, and a bronze sword, showcasing a sacred and supreme glory, a treasured inheritance of the indigenous people. Additionally, the park also houses the famous Sandimen Cultural Center, where visitors can appreciate exquisite works of indigenous artistic culture and experience the essence of tribal craftsmanship. It is recommended to spend about 30 minutes here, strolling in the park and admiring public artwork created by local artists.
