Zhongshan Park Introduction
Zhongshan Park is located in Sandimen Township (opposite Sandimen Township Office) and was the site of the War Memorial during the Japanese colonial period. It was planned as a park only after the retrocession of Taiwan. It is a must-visit place for those who are new to Sandimen. The park's outer wall features sixty stone plates with snake patterns, which narrate the mythological stories and life events of the Paiwan people, reflecting the traces of historical and cultural continuity. A striking landmark within the park is the large representation of the "Three Treasures of the Paiwan," composed of glass beads, ceramic pots, and bronze knives, showcasing a sacred and unparalleled glory that is a treasured heritage of the indigenous people. Additionally, the park houses the famous Sandimen Cultural Hall, where visitors can appreciate the exquisite works of indigenous art and experience the essence of tribal craftsmanship. It is recommended to spend about 30 minutes here, taking a stroll through the park and enjoying the public artworks created by local artists.
