Shen Mountain Tribe Culinary School Introduction

The Shenshan Tribal Culinary School is located along Provincial Highway 24, nestled in the Shenshan tribal area of Wutai Township, where mountain mist lingers throughout the year, creating a picturesque landscape. Recently, it has developed the "Tribal Culinary School," which is Taiwan's first tribal culinary experience, guiding travelers into the fields to learn about familiar yet unfamiliar ingredients. Through cooking, visitors can experience the charm of the indigenous homeland. For instance, the false horned fruit is a common wild vegetable found in the tribe, often seen in front of many households, and it is an essential ingredient in the traditional Rukai dish "cinabu." At the Tribal Culinary School, guests can enjoy the fun of gathering ingredients and DIY cooking experiences. It is recommended to stay for at least 3 hours, and prior reservation with the community development association is required to participate in the experience. Visitors must also apply for a mountain entry permit to enter Wutai Township, and large buses are prohibited from passing through.
