Shan Mountain Tribal Culinary School Introduction

The Shenshan Tribal Culinary School is located on Provincial Highway No. 24, in the Shenshan Village of Wutai Township, where the mountain mist lingers year-round, creating picturesque scenery as if crafted by the hands of deities. Recently developed as a "Tribal Culinary School," it is the first of its kind in Taiwan, inviting travelers to explore the familiar yet unfamiliar ingredients in the fields. Through cooking, visitors can experience the charm of the indigenous homeland; for instance, the false sour sap is a common wild vegetable in the village, often found in front of many households, and is an essential ingredient in the traditional Rukai dish "cinabu." At the Tribal Culinary School, participants can enjoy the fun of foraging for ingredients and DIY cooking. It is recommended to stay for at least 3 hours and to make a reservation with the community development association prior to the experience. Additionally, a mountain entry permit is required to enter Wutai Township, and Class A large buses are prohibited from passage.
