Shan Mountain Tribe Culinary School Introduction
Shen Mountain Tribal Culinary School is located on Provincial Highway 24, in the Shen Mountain Tribe of Wutai Township, where mist often envelops the area, creating a scene straight out of a fairy tale. Recently developed as a "Tribal Culinary School," it is Taiwan's first tribal culinary experience, inviting travelers to explore the fields and learn about familiar yet unfamiliar ingredients, using cooking as a starting point to feel the charm of the indigenous lands. For example, the false currant is a common wild vegetable in the tribe, often found in front of many households, and it is an essential ingredient in the traditional food of the Rukai people, "cinabu." Entering the Tribal Culinary School allows participants to enjoy the fun of gathering ingredients and DIY cooking experiences. It is recommended to stay for at least 3 hours, and reservations with the community development association are required to participate. A mountain entry permit is also needed to enter Wutai Township, and the passage of Class A large buses is prohibited.
