Shan Shan Tribal Culinary School Introduction
The Shenshan Tribe Culinary School is located on Provincial Highway 24, situated in the Shenshan Tribe of Wutai Township, where the mountain mist lingers year-round, creating picturesque scenery as if crafted by the hands of deities. Recently developed as a "Tribal Culinary School," this is Taiwan's first tribal culinary experience, guiding travelers into the fields to learn about familiar yet unfamiliar ingredients. Cooking serves as a starting point to feel the charm of the indigenous homeland. For example, the false berry is a common wild vegetable in the tribe, with many households having a few plants in front, and it is an essential ingredient for the traditional Rukai dish "cinabu." At the Tribal Culinary School, one can enjoy the fun of gathering ingredients and DIY cooking experiences. It is recommended to stay for at least 3 hours and to make a reservation with the Community Development Association in advance to participate in the experience. An entrance permit is required to enter Wutai Township, and Class A large buses are prohibited from passing through.
