Lion's Head Mountain Park Introduction

Lion's Head Mountain, located at Cape Jinshan, offers a view of Yehliu Cape to the east and Huankeng Fishing Port and the mountainous sea scenery of Zhongjiao to the west. Under long-term military protection, Lion's Head Mountain boasts a rich and complete ecological resource with diverse forest types. During different seasons, one might encounter the beautiful blooms of Taiwan lilies or Golden Sea Onions along the trails. Spring is the best time to see Taiwan lilies, whose elegant white flowers bloom on the cliffs, showcasing another aspect of the ecological beauty of Lion's Head Mountain. Additionally, due to its coastal location, the area is rich in coastal plants, including sea lychee, grass sea pine, and lin-tou trees. Around September to October, one can observe the native species Golden Sea Onion blooming in the planting area near Zhongzheng Pavilion, characterized by its ecological feature of "flowers visible without leaves, leaves visible without flowers." At the end of the trail stands the famous landscape "Candleholder Islets," sculpted by plate tectonics and the forces of natural erosion. About six million years ago, sedimentary rocks were pushed out of the sea, and through the elements of wind, rain, and ocean waves, they now rise prominently in the sea like an artistically crafted sculpture, showcasing stunning geological beauty.
