Lion's Head Mountain Park Introduction

Lion's Head Mountain, located at Cape Kinshan, offers views to the east of Yehliu Cape and to the west of the scenic mountains and seas of Huanggang Fishing Harbor and Zhongjiao. Protected under long-term military control, Lion's Head Mountain boasts rich and diverse ecological resources, with a variety of forest types. During different seasons, visitors may encounter the beautiful blooms of Taiwan lilies or golden garlic flowers along the trails. Spring is the best time to see Taiwan lilies, with elegant and fragrant white flowers blooming on the cliffs, showcasing another aspect of the ecological beauty of Lion's Head Mountain. Additionally, due to its coastal location, the area is rich in coastal plants, including sea lychee, shore bindweed, and mangrove trees. Around September to October, visitors can witness the native species of golden garlic blooming in the planting area near Zhongzheng Pavilion during the autumn season of the North Coast, characterized by "flowers without leaves, leaves without flowers." At the end of the trail, the famous sight of "Twin Candlesticks," sculpted by tectonic movements and natural erosion, stands before you. This sedimentary rock, pushed out to sea six million years ago, has been shaped by the elements and wave erosion, rising majestically in the ocean like an artificially crafted masterpiece, showcasing stunning geological beauty.
