Lion's Head Mountain Park Introduction
Lion's Head Mountain, located at Cape Kinmen, offers a view of Yehliu Cape to the east and the scenic waters of Huanggang Fishing Port and Zhongjiao to the west. Under military protection for a long time, the ecological resources of Lion's Head Mountain are rich and complete, with a diverse range of forests. During different seasons, visitors may encounter beautiful sights of Taiwan lilies or golden flowers blooming along the trails. Spring is the best time to see Taiwan lilies, with their elegant white flowers emitting a subtle fragrance, adding another layer of ecological beauty to Lion's Head Mountain. Additionally, being a coastal area, the region is abundant in coastal plants, including sea grape, coastal acacia, and bruguiera. Around September to October, visitors can observe the native species -- golden flowers blooming in the planting area near the Zhongzheng Pavilion, characterized by the saying “visible flowers but not leaves, visible leaves but not flowers.” At the end of the trail, the famous landscape known as "Candleholder Islets" stands before you, sculpted by tectonic activity and natural erosion. Six million years ago, sedimentary rock was pushed out of the sea, and after years of wind, rain, and wave erosion, it now stands like an art piece carved by human hands in the middle of the sea, showcasing astonishing geological beauty.
