Sicao Dazhong Temple has a history of over 200 years and serves as the spiritual center for fishermen in the Sicao area of Annan District. Every year on the 15th day of the 11th lunar month, the temple celebrates the birthday of General Chen, the deity of the sea. Visitors to this location not only worship Dazhong Ye for the safety of their families but can also enjoy the mangrove area behind the temple, which naturally forms a green tunnel on the water. This lush canopy not only shields visitors from the scorching sun but also blocks out the cold winds, creating a warm winter and cool summer experience. Gently gliding on a rubber raft, one can spot egrets, night herons, and other birds flying low along the banks, eliciting awe and wonder. From March to May each year, this area also marks the migration period for wintering birds returning to the north. At this time, the sky above Sicao is filled with flocks of birds in flight, creating a spectacular and unforgettable scene.
