Sicao Dajia Temple Introduction
Sicao Dazhong Temple has a history of over 200 years and serves as the center of faith for fishermen in Sicao, Annan District. Every year on the 15th day of the 11th lunar month, the birthday of the Emperor of the Sea is celebrated. Visitors to this area, in addition to worshiping Dazhong Ye for family safety, can also enjoy the green tunnel landscape formed by the mangrove area behind the temple, which naturally provides shade from the intense sun and protection from cold winds, making it warm in winter and cool in summer. Slowly drifting along on an inflatable boat, one can occasionally spot egrets, night herons, or other birds flying low along the banks, eliciting rounds of admiration. From March to May each year, this area is also a migration period for wintering birds returning to the north, during which the sky in Sicao is filled with flocks of birds soaring, creating a spectacular and unforgettable scene.
