Sicau Dazhong Temple Introduction
Sicao Da Zhong Temple has a history of over 200 years and serves as the spiritual center for fishermen in Sicao, Annan District. Every year on the 15th day of the 11th lunar month, the birthday of the Town God is celebrated. Visitors to this site not only come to worship the Town God for family safety but can also explore the mangrove area located behind the temple, which naturally forms a green tunnel on the water. This not only shields against the scorching sun but also blocks the cold winds, creating a warm winter and a cool summer. As visitors paddle gently on rubber rafts, they might spot herons, night herons, or other birds flying low along the banks, eliciting gasps of wonder. From March to May each year, this area is also a migration period for wintering birds returning north; at this time, the sky above Sicao is filled with birds in flight, creating a spectacular and unforgettable sight.
