Sicao Public Temple Introduction
Sicau Temple has a history of over 200 years and serves as the faith center for Sicau fishermen in the Annan District. The birthday of the God of the Sea is celebrated on the 15th day of the 11th lunar month each year. Visitors to this location not only pay their respects to the deity for family safety but also enjoy the natural green tunnel formed by the mangrove forest along the drainage channel behind the temple. This area not only shields visitors from the blazing sun but also blocks the chilly winds, providing warmth in winter and coolness in summer. Floating on a rubber raft, one can leisurely glide along while herons, night herons, and other birds occasionally fly low overhead, eliciting bursts of awe. From March to May each year, the area also serves as a migration period for wintering birds returning north, creating a spectacular scene of thousands of birds soaring in the sky, a sight that is truly unforgettable.
