During the Qing Daoguang period, the First Opium War occurred between China and Britain. To prevent the British army from entering Taiwan, the then Taiwan Military Government official, Yao Ying, proposed the construction of 17 forts in the Anping and Tainan River areas. The Sicau Fort is one of them. Sicau Fort is listed as a national second-level historic site. Currently, the ancient cannons are no longer present, leaving only the fort's walls. The fort has 13 circular firing holes, and these walls now serve as the boundary wall for the nearby Tainan Municipal Zhenhai Elementary School. Sicau Fort is located in front of the Sicau Dajung Temple, and nearby is the well-known Sicau Green Tunnel, where visitors can take a sightseeing bamboo raft to traverse the river and enjoy the beautiful natural ecology.

It has been designated as a national second-class monument, and while the ancient cannons are no longer present, the fortifications remain, featuring a wall with 13 circular gun holes. This wall has become part of the enclosure of the nearby Tainan City Zhenhai Elementary School. The Sicao Fort is located in front of the Sicao Dajia Miao (Temple), and nearby is the famous Sicao Green Tunnel, where visitors can enjoy a scenic ride on a bamboo raft through the waterways and experience the beautiful natural ecology.
