During the Daoguang period, the First Opium War broke out between China and Britain. To prevent the British forces from entering Taiwan, the then Taiwan military commissioner Yao Ying proposed the construction of 17 forts in the Anping and Tainan River areas. The Four Grass Fort is one of them. The Four Grass Fort has been designated as a national secondary historic site. There are no ancient cannons left, only the fort wall remains, which features 13 round cannon holes. This wall now serves as the fence for the nearby Tainan City Zhenhai Elementary School. The Four Grass Fort is located in front of the Four Grass Public Temple, and nearby is the famous Four Grass Green Tunnel, where visitors can take a scenic bamboo raft through the waterways and enjoy the beautiful natural ecology.

Sicou Fort is located in front of the Sicou Temple, and nearby is the famous Sicou Green Tunnel, where visitors can take sightseeing bamboo rafts to navigate through the river and enjoy the beautiful natural ecology.
