Su'ao Cold Spring Introduction
Yilan's Haotzuan Sacred Land - The World's Best Spring Yilan is known as a land of hot springs, with various springs available to soak in throughout the year. During winter, there's the Jiaoxi Hot Springs, and in summer, the Su'ao Cold Spring. Together, they are referred to as two natural treasures hidden beneath the Lanyang Plain, attracting many spring enthusiasts who come with their families to relax and unwind. Unique Cold Spring The abundant rainfall and thick limestone layers in Su'ao create the unique Su'ao Cold Spring, a rare phenomenon in Southeast Asia. With a temperature of about 21 degrees Celsius, this "low-temperature mineral spring" is colorless, odorless, and crystal clear. It can be drank and bathed in, making it the only bicarbonate spring in Taiwan. The history of the cold spring dates back to 1928 when it was discovered and developed by Japanese soldiers. Due to its sweet and clear water rich in carbon dioxide, it became a basis for producing local delicacies like yokan and soda. Although the soda production has ceased, cold spring yokan remains a representative product of Su'ao, offering a sweet experience. Refreshing Experience Currently, the cold spring features open-air pools for both men and women and private hot spring rooms, along with a well-planned recreational park suitable for adults and children alike. When soaking in the cold spring, the lower water temperature feels quite refreshing at first, but within five minutes, you’ll feel warm all over. The pool floor continuously releases fine bubbles, making the experience reminiscent of soaking in sugar-free soda—fun and invigorating! It is said that regular bathing in it benefits the skin, earning it the title of a natural beauty sanctuary among locals. Such an extraordinary cold spring awaits your personal experience!
