Nanfang'ao Visitor Center Introduction
The Nan'ao Visitor Center, a green building situated adjacent to the Nanfang'ao Jinhangong Temple, is nestled by the mountains and waters. This two-story structure showcases elements of the fishing village and fishery culture, reflecting local characteristics. The exhibits primarily provide information about the natural ecology, marine culture, recreational attractions, and tourism details in the Northeast Coast and Yilan Coast, allowing visitors to gain an in-depth understanding of the wetland ecology, fishing village culture, cold springs, and seafood delicacies, thus experiencing the beauty and emotion of Yilan. The Nan'ao Visitor Center is a cultural space that integrates with its environment and makes good use of natural resources; it utilizes wind power generation and rainwater harvesting systems, while the surrounding windows are fully opened to achieve natural ventilation and ample lighting. The visitor center is airy and bright, with a permeable design, allowing the beautiful scenery outside to blend more harmoniously with the coastal landscape. Visitors can even catch a faint smell of the sea and fishing, which embodies the most local flavor of Nanfang'ao!
