New Jiayang Black Forest Introduction
Located above the Xinjialiang Tribe, the梨山黑森林 (Li Shan Black Forest) is an important hunting ground for the Atayal people. The giant trees in the forest soar into the sky, and even during the day, sunlight cannot illuminate the forest due to the dense foliage, resulting in a dark atmosphere, hence the name "Black Forest." The Black Forest possesses rich ecological resources, with ancient hunting trails now planned as forest walkways, allowing visitors to witness the pristine appearance of the high-altitude coniferous forest. Walking on the soft pine needles and rustling leaves, immersed in the abundant phytoncides, you might even encounter a muntjac if you're lucky! While walking on the Black Forest Trail, in addition to observing the ferns, ancient trees, and moss within the forest, don't forget to step out of the forest to enjoy the beautiful tea plantation scenery. The ancient tea plantation, developed by local tribespeople, is the highest tea plantation in Taiwan and is an ecological tea garden that uses green farming methods. Sitting at an elevation of about 2,200 meters, it is shrouded in mist year-round and experiences significant temperature variations between day and night, combined with pure mountain spring water from the Black Forest, making the tea leaves produced here award-winning and recognized in international competitions. The Black Forest is an important hunting ground for the Atayal tribe, holding significant meaning for the tribe members, and the ancient tea plantation is private property. Therefore, friends wishing to visit the Black Forest must contact the tribe in advance to arrange a guided tour, and please do not trespass!
