Yehliu Lighthouse Introduction

The Yehliu Lighthouse was built in 1967 and stands within the Yehliu Geopark in Wanli District. The establishment of the lighthouse is related to the nearby waters, which are densely populated with reefs and rocky dangers. Located between the radii of the Fuguijiao and Keelung Harbor lighthouses, the lighthouse plays a crucial role in enhancing navigation for Keelung Harbor. For many years, it has fulfilled its mission of guiding vessels at sea and serves as an important landmark for navigation. The Yehliu Lighthouse is renowned as "the most beautiful lighthouse in Taiwan." It stands in Area 3 of the Yehliu Geopark, featuring a red-topped torch and a white circular base, resembling Yehliu's famous "Candlestick Rock" from a distance. Walking north from the Yehliu Lighthouse leads to the tip of Yehliu Cape, where there is a pavilion with a 270-degree panoramic view, allowing visitors to enjoy the gentle sea breeze and the vast ocean, providing an escape from the daily hustle and bustle. Due to its relative distance, the number of visiting tourists is relatively low, making it a hidden gem.
