Artificial Wetland Park Introduction
Dapeng Bay has shed its past military background and the era of vast oyster farms, now moving towards the development of water-based recreational activities. However, to promote water recreation activities, the quality of water must first be considered. In light of this, the Dapeng Bay Administration has invested considerable effort in long-term water quality monitoring. To improve water quality while also restoring the area's original wetland landscape, the specific method used is transforming the surrounding abandoned fish ponds into "artificial wetlands," which require minimal investment, have low operating costs, and are easy to manage and maintain, while also performing multiple functions such as regulating microclimates and improving the environment. The wastewater processed by the Dapeng Bay artificial wetland complex mainly comes from the wastewater discharged from the surrounding aquaculture fish ponds, and since the water used in these fish ponds originates from the seawater of Dapeng Bay, the wetlands are dealing with seawater rather than freshwater. Therefore, Dapeng Bay's many wetlands are among the few brackish artificial wetlands in the country, making them a significant feature. In fact, the aquatic plants planted in the wetland environment have effectively improved the local ecological landscape, increased the living space for aquatic plants and animals, enriched and beautified the water landscape of Dapeng Bay, and highlighted the green ecology.
