Liuqiu Management Station and Visitor Center Introduction

The Liuqiu Management Station and Visitor Center is located on a hillside next to Baisha Harbor, featuring a three-story building. Due to the slope, the main entrance is on the second floor, where the lobby has a tourism information desk that provides real-time travel consultation services, along with static and dynamic travel guide facilities. Additionally, there is a large briefing (conference) room that can accommodate 75 people, offering services for large meetings and guided tours for groups. The outdoor area includes an entrance plaza, a sea-view platform, and a shop. The first floor houses the management station office, which is not open to visitors; however, the outdoor viewing platform allows visitors to rest and enjoy the view of Baisha Harbor and the beautiful sea. The third floor is the dormitory area, which is also not open for visiting. The Liuqiu Management Station and Visitor Center originated from the Liuqiu Township Library, which was established in 1995. In 2000, Liuqiu Township was incorporated into the management scope of Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area. Due to the initial difficulty in acquiring land, Liuqiu Township borrowed part of the library space from the township office to serve as a temporary office for the management station and visitor center. To enhance recreational service quality and respond to the annual increase in tourist numbers in the Liuqiu scenic area, the Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area Administration obtained permission from the township office in 2009 to acquire the land and building of the Liuqiu Township Library for a fee, and planned renovations to establish a permanent Liuqiu Management Station and Visitor Center. After renovations, it officially opened in 2012. The overall appearance features red tiles and white walls, with a distinct island style that integrates elements of composite architecture, such as European-style spire roofs, columns, and corridor designs, making the building unique and different from other structures on Liuqiu Island, thus becoming a new local attraction.
