Shan Zhu Gou Introduction
The origin of the name "Shanzhugou" comes from a legend. There was once a mountain pig spirit that stole the colorful garments of a fairy while she was bathing by the sea. The spirit used the stolen clothes to threaten the fairy. Later, the fairy pretended to agree and retrieved her garments before leaving. The mountain pig spirit, deceived and filled with shame, cried out in anguish and died. Thus, it was named "Shanzhugou." Shanzhugou has been developed along the coral reef terrain, featuring wooden walkways and trails, with interpretation signs and viewpoints along the way. Walking the round trip takes about an hour. The trail is filled with century-old banyan trees and vines, providing a cool and pleasant environment. Coral reefs and shell fossils are abundant, embracing geological wonders formed over millions of years. The air is filled with phytoncides from the forest, creating a refreshing atmosphere.
