Zhongao Beach Introduction
Located on the northeastern side of Liuqiu Island, it is one of the best places for swimming, playing in the water, fishing, and other seaside recreational activities, and is one of the main natural beaches of Liuqiu Island. The intertidal and subtidal zones are formed by coral reefs and shell fragments, resulting in a belt-shaped sandy beach. On the left side, there is a spacious pavilion facing the sea, while on the right side, the protruding coastal dike serves as a fishing area for anglers, who are often seen carrying baskets filled with various marine fish and tropical fish. In this area, one can observe intertidal creatures such as hermit crabs, mudskippers, eel blennies, and shellfish in the tidal pools. Zhongao Beach is also highly recommended by local residents as a top destination for water activities, as its gentle coastline is much safer than other coastlines of Liuqiu Island. The romantic scenery of the blue sea and sky attracts many tourists and families, making it a popular spot for leisure. In recent years, it has also become a new location for wedding photography, and the "Water Request" ceremony of the Wangping Ping'an Festival, held every three years, also takes place here.
