Biyun Temple Introduction
Biyun Temple is the spiritual center of the residents of Xiaoliuqiu! Located in the heart of Liuqiu Island, it was built in 1736 and has a history of over 200 years. It is dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva, and the residents of Xiaoliuqiu turn to the temple for guidance on various matters such as marriage, funerals, auspicious dates, celebrations, seeking love, health inquiries, and hoping for successful fishing trips. The temple is closely tied to the joys and sorrows of life for the people, who often come to draw lots for guidance and seek divine assistance, making it a spiritual refuge for the community! In 1980, the late President Chiang Ching-kuo visited this temple and donated NT$1,000 as offerings, which helped the temple gain fame throughout Taiwan! Below Biyun Temple, there is a wooden walkway where visitors can appreciate the bamboo forest ecosystem. Strolling through, sunlight filters through the trees, creating a refreshing atmosphere, and at night, the lights cast on the bamboo forest, accompanied by the gentle sound of flowing water and the croaking of frogs, creates a serene ambiance.
