Vase Rock Introduction

Most people's first impression of Xiaoliuqiu is the Vase Rock located in front of Ling Shan Temple. Standing by the coast of Liuqiu Island, it serves as a prominent landmark for passing ships, earning it the title of "Guardian Deity of Xiaoliuqiu." The Vase Rock, approximately 9 meters high, was uplifted due to the tectonic activity of coral reefs along the coast and later shaped into its unique form by long-term erosion from seawater, resulting in a structure with a large top and a smaller bottom. With vegetation covering its summit, it resembles a vase filled with flowers, hence the name. With changes in sunlight and the seasons, Vase Rock continuously showcases different appearances, displaying a myriad of enchanting forms. When visiting, it is recommended to come at low tide, take a close look, and enjoy a rich ecological journey with a close-up of the Vase Rock!
