Huang Xuan-Hsien Liulu Mansion Introduction
Huang Xuanxian was born in the mid-Qianlong period. His father held the official title of Hanwai Lang, and his descendants were successful in business in Southeast Asia. The Huang residence features a Fujian-style architecture with five main rooms and double protective dragons on both sides, famously known as the "Six Routes Mansion." It has a dragon-and-swallow ridge in the front and a hard mountain saddle that harmoniously connects with it. The façade is adorned with exquisite wood carvings, and the waterwheel block is embellished with colorful paintings and cutouts of auspicious flowers and birds, all of which showcase the strength of the local expatriates and their pride in their ancestry.
