Cide Temple Introduction
Ci De Temple is a shrine dedicated to Huang Wei, known as the "paragon of virtue." The temple's unique craftsmanship is reflected in three main areas: Jiaozhi ceramics, paper-cutting art, and stone carving. Jiaozhi ceramics include intricate representations such as the Dragon and Tiger Wall, mirror block, and six vividly crafted panels. Paper-cutting art adorns the roof ridge and dragon ornaments at the apex of the temple. Stone carving features exquisite pieces made from blue stone columns, door frames, granite base material for counters, wall blocks, and calligraphy on stone pillars, depicting characters in pavilions, trees, stones, flowers, horses, and dramatic stories. These three distinctive characteristics are the most abundant and well-preserved among Kinmen temples. It was designated a county historic site in 1997.
