Cide Temple Introduction
Cide Temple is a temple dedicated to the worship of Huang Wei, the "Person of Perfect Virtue." The temple's unique craftsmanship is reflected in three main areas: Jiaozhi pottery, paper-cutting art, and stone carving. Jiaozhi pottery includes vivid representations on the dragon and tiger wall, mirror blocks, and six detailed panels. Paper-cutting art is showcased in the dragon decorations on the ridge and ridge top of the temple. Stone carving features exquisite carvings on all the columns made of blue stone, the doorframes, and the bases made of granite, including decorative footings, wall blocks, and calligraphy on stone columns, depicting pavilions, figures, trees, flowers, horses, and dramatic stories. These three characteristics make it one of the richest and most well-preserved temples in Kinmen. In 1997, it was designated as a county-level historic site.
