Kinmen Botanical Garden Introduction
Under the foot of Mount Taiwu, Kinmen Botanical Garden was originally the Taiwu Nursery focused on cultivating landscape seedlings. After five years of collaboration between the Kinmen County Government and the Forestry and Nature Conservation Administration, over 200 species of South China plants and indigenous plants of Kinmen were collected. The garden features areas such as: "Plant Source Planting Area," "Stream Ecology Area," "Bunker Display," "Wetland Ecology and Aquatic Plant Display Area," "Observation Area," and "Natural Ecology Area." Together with over thirty bunkers within the park, it has become a botanical garden that combines nature, education, and battlefield characteristics. When visiting Kinmen Botanical Garden, you can stroll along the bamboo corridor and mountain climbing path, enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mount Taiwu, appreciate the blooming lotus in summer, and have the chance to see magpies, hill partridges, and cockatoos flitting through the forest, allowing nature to heal your daily exhaustion. The Veterans' Story Museum, located within Kinmen Botanical Garden, requires about a 20-minute walk from the main entrance, but it’s an essential highlight of Kinmen not to be missed! The museum preserves the layout of the former Qingtian Water Plant control room, and upon entering, it showcases a wealth of military and friendship memorabilia. With a focus on "people," the museum offers a more personal connection and serves as a cherished memory for many who have served in Kinmen.
