Kinmen National Park Introduction

Jinmen Botanical Garden, located at the foot of Mount Taiwu, was formerly the Taiwu Nursery that specialized in cultivating landscape seedlings. In collaboration with the Kinmen County Government and the Forestry and Natural Conservation Bureau, over a span of five years, more than 200 species of South China plants and native plants of Kinmen have been collected. The garden features various zones, including: "Diverse Plant Root Source Planting Area," "Stream Ecology Area," "Bunker Display," "Wetland Ecology and Aquatic Plant Display Area," "Viewing Area," and "Natural Ecology Area," along with more than thirty bunkers within the park, creating a botanical garden that combines nature, education, and military heritage. Visitors to Jinmen Botanical Garden can stroll through the bamboo corridor and mountain trail, enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mount Taiwu, admire blooming lotus flowers in summer, and have the chance to see magpies, rock thrushes, and hoopoes flitting through the woods, allowing nature to soothe their weary minds and bodies. The Veterans Story Museum is located within the Jinmen Botanical Garden. It takes about a 20-minute walk from the main entrance of the botanical garden to reach this must-see highlight of Kinmen! The museum retains the layout of the former control room of the Cheng Tian Water Plant and displays a rich collection of military friendships. With a focus on the stories of individuals, the museum fosters a sense of closeness, serving as a cherished memory for many who have served in Kinmen.
