Wuqiteng Introduction

"Wuqitng" is located along the road between Taiwu Mountain and the Lu Wang Tomb. It is a hexagonal pavilion with blue tiles and red pillars. The name "Wuqitng" is meant to convey to military comrades the spirit of Wen Tianxiang, encouraging them to be individuals who are worthy of their parents and the heavens, standing tall and upright. Inside the pavilion stands a marble monument, with the front inscribed with the teachings of the founding father, "Military Spirit Education," written by Mr. Zong Xiaocheng. The back contains a self-praise by Lord Zhang Moke, which reads, "Confucius said, 'To achieve virtue,' and Mencius said, 'To pursue righteousness; only by fulfilling righteousness can one achieve true benevolence.' What then is learned from the writings of the sages? From now on, may I strive to be without shame." This illustrates the meaning behind the naming of Wuqitng.
