Wuqit亭 Introduction

Wuqiteng is located along the road between Mount Taiwu and the Tomb of Lu Wang. It is a hexagonal pavilion with green tiles and red pillars. The name Wuqiteng serves to remind military comrades to emulate the spirit of Wen Tianxiang and to be individuals who are worthy of their parents and the earth. Inside the pavilion stands a marble tablet, with the front engraved with the teachings of the Father of the Nation, "Military Spirit Education," written by Mr. Zong Xiaocheng. The back features a self-commendation by Zhang Mojun that states, "Confucius said, ‘Achieve benevolence,’ and Mencius said, ‘Pursue righteousness’; only by fulfilling righteousness can one attain true benevolence. What lessons do we learn from the sacred texts? From now on, may we strive to be without shame." This explains the significance of the name Wuqiteng.
