Qin-Jing Festival Archway Introduction
The "Qinjing Filial Piety Arch" is located beside the North Ring Road between Qionglin and Zhonglan. Although the scale and fame of this arch are not as prominent as those of the Qiu Lianggong Mother's Filial Piety Arch and the Yimen Three Filial Piety Arch, it is often a spot for travelers and tourists to take photographs due to its proximity to the main road. The Qinjing Filial Piety Arch, also known as the "Yan's Filial Piety Arch," was established to honor Yan's wife, Feng Niang, who was the wife of Cai Zhongde, a resident of Qionglin. The records from Kinmen state: Yan's Feng Niang was a virtuous woman who married Cai Zhongde of Pinglin at the age of 26 and maintained her chastity until she passed away at 81. In the fifth year of the Daoguang Emperor (1826), the Qinjing Filial Piety Arch was erected. On both sides of the arch, there is a large expanse of farmland, and amidst this pastoral scenery stands a quaint filial piety arch, adding to the cultural significance of the countryside. Although the Qinjing Filial Piety Arch is not classified as a historic building, its historical significance should not be overlooked. Despite the changing views on women's chastity today, the behaviors represented by the arch, which reflect the hardship and dedication involved in raising children, are indeed worthy of our admiration.
