Qinjiing Festival Archway Introduction
Located beside the North Circular Road between Qionglin and Zhonglan, the "Qin- jing Gateway to Filial Piety" may not be as grand or famous as the Qiu Liang-gong's Filial Piety Arch and the One Family, Three Filial Pieties Arch, but it is often a spot for travelers to take photos due to its proximity to the main road. The Qin-jing Gateway to Filial Piety, also known as the "Yan Clan's Filial Piety Arch," was established to honor Yan Clan's Fengniang, the wife of Cai Zhongde from Qionglin. The Kinmen Gazette records: Fengniang of the Yan Clan was virtuous and dedicated, the wife of Cai Zhongde from Pinglin, who remained chaste at the age of 26 and passed away at 81. In the 5th year of the Daoguang era (1826), the Qin-jing Gateway to Filial Piety stands among vast fields, adding to the pastoral cultural significance. Although the Qin-jing Gateway to Filial Piety is not listed as a historic monument, its historical significance should not be overlooked. Despite contemporary changes in the perception of women's chastity, the sacrifices made by mothers in raising their children, as represented by the arch, are indeed commendable.
