Nan Shih Hu Park Introduction
Nan Stone House Park, known as the "Mini Zhangjiajie," is located offshore of Liao Luo Village at the southeast corner of Kinmen. It was once a quarry for extracting underground granite. The granite produced in Kinmen has diverse and beautiful patterns, with a hardness greater than marble. Many famous buildings, such as the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and Taoyuan International Airport, used materials sourced from this area. In 2002, granite extraction was halted due to economic inefficiency, and the site was transformed into the current Nan Stone House Park to align with environmental protection efforts. Entering the park, you’ll encounter small wind lions by the reservoir, and the pool behind the stone railing reflects the granite walls, showcasing the aesthetic beauty of the man-made mining traces, resembling a mini version of Zhangjiajie. The park is in harmony with Liao Luo Bay, documenting Kinmen's historical industrial culture. Additionally, there is a nationally first shouting spring facility, which is very popular among visitors who come to shout and relieve stress while watching the water spray high, creating a therapeutic experience! The shouting spring is open during the following hours: (1) Summer Hours: April to September, 9 AM to 6 PM. (2) Winter Hours: October to March, 9 AM to 5 PM. Each experience costs NT$20, and please bring your own change.
