Shamei Wan'an Temple Introduction
According to the records of Kinmen County, the Shama Wan'an Temple was built during the Yuan Dynasty, making it over 700 years old, and it is the oldest Baosheng Dadi temple in Kinmen County. Baosheng Dadi is regarded as the "God of Medicine" in folk beliefs, commonly known as "Dadaogong," "Wu Zhenren," and "Hua Qiao Gong." In an era when medical knowledge was limited, when someone in a household fell ill, people would go to the temple to seek divine intervention and remedies, making Baosheng Dadi an important deity for blessings and healing in Kinmen’s folk beliefs. After three reconstructions, the current site is where it was later relocated and rebuilt. In 2009, it was integrated into the local environment and planned as the "Wan'an Temple Origin Memorial Park," featuring a stone statue of Baosheng Dadi riding a white horse, a stele recording his life story, and the Twelve Zodiac Fortune Stones, which have been selected as one of Taiwan's religious scenic spots.
