Shamei Wan'an Temple Introduction
According to the records of Kinmen County, the Wan'an Temple in Shimei was built during the Yuan Dynasty, over 700 years ago, making it the oldest Baosheng Emperor temple in Kinmen County. Baosheng Emperor is regarded as the "God of Medicine" in folk belief, commonly known as "Dadaogong," "Wu Zhenren," and "Huaqiao Gong." In times when medical knowledge was limited, families with sick members would visit the temple to seek divine help and remedies, making Baosheng Emperor an important deity for seeking blessings and healing in Kinmen's folk belief. After three reconstructions, the current site is where it was relocated and rebuilt. In 2009, it was integrated into the local environment and planned as the "Wan'an Temple Origin Memorial Park," featuring a stone statue of Baosheng Emperor riding a white horse, a monument recording his life stories, and the Zodiac Relocation Stone, which has been selected as one of Taiwan's Top 100 Religious Sites.
