Daitian Temple Introduction
The East Gate Da Tian Temple, located in Kinmen, is an important center of faith for the local residents. While there is no specific record of the temple's founding date, it is said to date back to the Ming Dynasty. Initially, the temple primarily worshipped Lord Wen Wang, but later, during a巡狩 conducted by Lord Chi Wang, Lord Wen Wang invited him to join in guarding the village, leading to the concurrent worship of both deities, ensuring peace in the region. The main deity of the temple, Lord Chi Wang, is believed to have originated from the "Yuan Wei Hall" in Fujian's Ma Xiang, where it has a strong following and is greatly revered by devotees. In modern times, the temple underwent minor renovations in 1978 and was rebuilt in 1993 to its present form, blending the beauty of traditional architecture with modern craftsmanship, creating a solemn and dignified atmosphere. Every year, the 18th day of the 6th lunar month is an important festival day for the East Gate Da Tian Temple, where faithful devotees from various regions gather to incense and pray for blessings, creating a lively atmosphere. It is an excellent opportunity to experience the local religious culture and human connections in Kinmen. Whether exploring history, admiring temple architecture, or feeling the power of traditional faith, the East Gate Da Tian Temple is a must-visit stop for travelers.
