Nine Halls Tunnel Introduction

The most famous Jiugong Tunnel in Little Kinmen, similar to the Zhaishan Tunnel in Greater Kinmen, was constructed during wartime to ensure the safety of military logistics operations through underground facilities, with the tunnels primarily made of hard granite. The Jiugong Tunnel, excavated with simple equipment and manpower during wartime, was completed in 1965. It is a double T-shaped waterway, approximately 750 meters long, with a main tunnel width of about 12 meters and a height of about 7 meters. Starting from Jiugong Wharf, it penetrates the mountain and extends all the way to Luocuo Fishing Port. The wide and intricately designed Jiugong Tunnel has four exits to the sea and five underground tunnels connecting to the wharf, accommodating 52 small boats. Currently, without the fear of wartime, the tunnel houses wax figures simulating the conditions during its excavation, allowing visitors to experience the hardships of the past.
