Luochuo Mazu Park Introduction

Luochou Fishing Port is the only fishing port in Little Kinmen, serving as the gateway for fishermen to go out to sea as well as a docking port for transportation boats and coast guard patrol boats between Big and Little Kinmen. The entire port area has children's playground equipment, and the activity center building serves as the office for the fishing association and the agricultural and fishery specialty center of Little Kinmen. The "Mazu" worshipped at the Luochou Xihu Ancient Temple is the guardian deity of fishermen, and the stone statue of Mazu standing beside the ancient temple has become a new landmark for Luochou Fishing Port, blessing and guiding the navigation of vessels. Luochou Mazu Park is located near Jiugong Harbor, situated at a high point behind Luochou, providing an excellent view overlooking Luochou Fishing Port and the beach area of Lieyu Dongdonglin Coastal Park. The park was funded by the Fujian Provincial Government, Kinmen County Government, and Lieyu Township Office. The most eye-catching feature in the park is a towering stone statue of Mazu, which can be said to be the new landmark of Luochou. This statue is made of white granite, stands 9 meters tall, and its base consists of three tiers: the first tier is an 8-gon shape with a height of 1.28 meters, the second tier features a shadow sculpture made of Qingdou stone with a height of 1.05 meters, and the third tier is a granite sculpture with a height of 0.90 meters, making the total height including the base reach 12.23 meters.
