Luocuo Mazu Park Introduction
Luo Chao Fishing Port is the only fishing port in Little Kinmen, serving as the gateway for fishermen to venture out to sea, as well as a docking port for transportation boats and coast guard patrol vessels to and from both Little and Big Kinmen. The entire port area also has playground equipment for children, and the activity center serves as the office for the Fishermen's Association and the Little Kinmen Agricultural and Fishery Specialty Center. The Mazu statue at the ancient Luo Chao Xihu Temple, dedicated to the guardian of fishermen, has become a new landmark for Luo Chao Fishing Port, blessing and guiding the navigation of vessels. Luo Chao Mazu Park is located near Jiugong Wharf, on a high point behind Luo Chao, offering an excellent view overlooking Luo Chao Fishing Port and the beach area of Lieu Yu Dongdonglin Coastal Park. Funded by the Fujian Provincial Government, Kinmen County Government, and self-raised funds by Lieu Yu Township Office, the park's most notable feature is a towering Mazu statue, which serves as a new landmark for Luo Chao. This Mazu statue is made of white granite, standing 9 meters high, with a three-tiered base: the first tier is an octagonal shape with a height of 1.28 meters, the second tier features a stone shadow sculpture with a height of 1.05 meters, and the third tier is a granite carving with a height of 0.90 meters, making the total height including the base reach 12.23 meters.
