Luo Cuo Mazu Park Introduction
Luocuo Fishing Harbor is the only fishing harbor in Little Kinmen, serving as a gateway for fishermen to go out to sea, as well as a docking port for transportation boats and Coast Guard patrol boats between Little and Big Kinmen. The entire harbor area features playground equipment for children, and the activity center building serves as the office for the Fishermen's Association and a special products center for agricultural and fishery products in Little Kinmen. The "Mazu" worshipped at the Luocuo Xihu Ancient Temple is the guardian deity of fishermen, and the stone statue of Mazu beside the ancient temple has become a new landmark of Luocuo Fishing Harbor, blessing and guiding the navigation of vessels. Luocuo Mazu Park, located near Jiugong Wharf and at the high point of Luocuo's back mountain, offers an excellent view overlooking Luocuo Fishing Harbor and Leyi East Lin Coastal Park beach. The park was funded by the Fujian Provincial Government, Kinmen County Government, and Leyi Township Office. The most striking feature in the park is a towering stone statue of Mazu, which can be considered as a new landmark of Luocuo. This statue of Mazu is made of white granite, stands 9 meters tall, with a three-tiered base: the first layer is an 8-sided platform 1.28 meters high, the second layer is a stone shadow carving of 1.05 meters high, and the third layer is a granite sculpture of 0.90 meters high, making the total height including the base reach 12.23 meters.
