Luo Tso Mazu Park Introduction
Luocuo Fishing Port is the only fishing port in Little Kinmen, serving as the gateway for fishermen to set out to sea, as well as a docking port for ferries and Coast Guard patrol boats between Big and Little Kinmen. The entire port area has children's play equipment, and the activity center building serves as the office for the Fishermen's Association and the Little Kinmen Agricultural and Fishery Specialty Center. The ancient Luocuo Xihu Temple is dedicated to Mazu, the guardian deity of fishermen. The stone statue of Mazu standing beside the ancient temple has become a new landmark for Luocuo Fishing Port, blessing and guiding the navigation of vessels. Luocuo Mazu Park is located near the Jiugong Wharf, situated at a high point in the hills behind Luocuo, offering an excellent view overlooking Luocuo Fishing Port and the beach area of Lieyu Donglin Coastal Park. The park was constructed with funding from the Fujian Provincial Government, Kinmen County Government, and Lieyu Township Office. The most eye-catching feature of the park is a towering stone statue of Mazu, which can be considered a new landmark for Luocuo. This Mazu statue is made of white granite and stands 9 meters tall, with a three-tiered base: the first tier is an 1.28-meter-tall octagonal structure, the second tier is a 1.05-meter-high shadow sculpture made of green stone, and the third tier is a 0.90-meter-high granite sculpture, making the total height including the base reach 12.23 meters.
