Luo Cuo Mazu Park Introduction
Luo Cuo Fishing Port is the only fishing port in Little Kinmen. It serves as the gateway for fishermen to go out to sea and is also a docking port for transportation boats between Little and Big Kinmen, as well as patrol boats of the Coast Guard. The entire port area has facilities for children's play equipment, and the activity center building serves as the office for the Fishermen's Association and a center for local agricultural and fishery products in Little Kinmen. The "Matsu" enshrined in the Luo Cuo West Lake Temple is considered the guardian deity of fishermen, and the stone statue of Matsu standing beside the ancient temple has become a new landmark of Luo Cuo Fishing Port, blessing and guiding the navigation of vessels. Luo Cuo Matsu Park is located near the Jiugong Wharf, positioned at the high point of the mountains behind Luo Cuo, offering an excellent view overlooking Luo Cuo Fishing Port and the sandy beach of Donglin Seaside Park in Lieyu. The park was funded by the Fujian Provincial Government, Kinmen County Government, and Lieyu Township Office. The most striking feature of the park is a towering Matsu statue, which can be regarded as the new landmark of Luo Cuo. This Matsu statue is made of white granite, stands 9 meters tall, and has a three-tiered base: the first tier is an octagonal shape with a height of 1.28 meters, the second tier is an engraved stone with a height of 1.05 meters, and the third tier is a granite carving with a height of 0.90 meters, making the total height including the base reach 12.23 meters.
