Cat Rock Coastal Recreation Area Introduction
The Cat Rock Coastal Recreation Area is located to the north of Little Kinmen Island, named after the unique red stones known as "Cat Rocks." This area is one of the few places in Taiwan where Cat Rocks can be found. Upon arriving at Cat Rock Beach, the first sight is the circular arrangement of anti-landing stake tracks. Then, looking to the right along the coast, one can see clusters of Cat Rocks scattered around—each massive red stone has a unique shape due to erosion by the sea. In Hokkien, a man with a pockmarked and uneven face is described as "Cat Man," which is why these uneven stones have been named "Cat Rocks"!
