Cat Rock Coastal Recreation Area Introduction
The Cat Rock Coastal Leisure Area is located directly north of Little Kinmen Island and is named after the unique red rocks known as "Cat Rocks." It is one of the few areas in Taiwan that produces Cat Rocks. Upon arriving at Cat Rock Beach, the first sight is the circular arrangement of the anti-landing stake trail fortification. Then, looking to the right along the coastline, you will see clusters of Cat Rocks arranged in a scattered manner; each giant red rock has a unique shape due to erosion from the sea. In Hokkien, a man with a pockmarked and uneven face is referred to as "Cat Man," hence the pockmarked stones were named "Cat Rocks."
