Jian Gong Islet Introduction
Jiangong Islet is located at the mouth of Wujiang River in Jincheng, with an area of approximately 500 square meters. It is also known as Dongyu, Zhu Yu, and Ao Yu. It serves as a sentinel in the sea between Kinmen Island and Lieyu, standing firmly like a pillar in the flowing water, hence the name "Jiangong Pillar." During low tide, visitors can see the rich intertidal creatures and ascend Jiangong Islet via the stone path, which is why it is referred to as the "Moses parting the sea" of Kinmen. The statue of Zheng Chenggong on the island faces another statue of Zheng Chenggong on Gulangyu Island in Xiamen, and the large "Oyster Man" installation art on both sides of the stone path are popular sights for tourists' cameras! Tide information for Jiangong Islet can be found here.
