Jian Gong Islet Introduction
Jiankeng Islet is located at the mouth of Wujiang River in the southern gate of Jincheng, covering an area of about 500 square meters. It is also known as Dongyu, Zhuyu, or Aoyu. This islet serves as a sentinel between Kinmen Island and Lieyu, standing firm like a pillar in the stream, hence the name "Jiankeng Pillar." During low tide, in addition to observing the rich intertidal life, visitors can walk up to Jiankeng Islet along the stone path, earning it the nickname "Moses parting the sea of Kinmen." The statue of Koxinga on the island faces another statue of Koxinga located on Gulangyu in Xiamen, and the tall "Oyster Men" artistic installations on both sides of the stone path are popular photographic spots for visitors!
