Jian Gong Isle Introduction
Jian Gong Islet is located at the mouth of Wujiang River in Kincheng South Gate, covering an area of about 500 square meters. It is also known as Dongyu, Zhuyu, and Aoyu. It serves as a sentinel in the sea between Kinmen Island and Lieyu, standing firmly like a pillar in the stream, hence the name "Jian Gong Pillar." When the tide recedes, visitors can observe the rich intertidal life and walk along the stone path to reach Jian Gong Islet, which is also referred to as the "Moses Splitting the Sea of Kinmen." The statue of Koxinga on the island faces another statue of Koxinga on Gulangyu Island in Xiamen, making it a popular spot for tourists alongside the towering “Oyster Men” installation art on either side of the stone path!
