Jian Gong Islet Introduction

The restoration project of Jianggong Islet and its surrounding scenery is scheduled to close the military installation on Jianggong Islet for renovations until July 31, 2025. During this period, visitors can still walk along the sea path to visit the installation art "Oyster Man" and the Koxinga statue based on the tide schedule. Jianggong Islet is located at the mouth of the Wujiang Creek in Jincheng, covering an area of about 500 square meters. It is also known as Dong Islet, Pearl Islet, and Ao Islet. It serves as a sentinel in the waters between Kinmen and Lieyu, steadfast like a pillar, hence the name "Jianggong Pillar." When the tide is low, besides observing the rich intertidal organisms, visitors can walk along the stone path to Jianggong Islet, also known as the Kinmen version of Moses parting the sea. The statue of Koxinga on the island faces another statue of Koxinga located on Gulangyu Island in Xiamen, and the tall "Oyster Man" installation art on both sides of the stone path is a popular photo spot for tourists! Tide information for Jianggong Islet can be found here.
