Jian Gong Islet Introduction
Jian Gong Islet is located at the mouth of Wujiang Creek in Jincheng's South Gate, covering an area of about 500 square meters. It is also known as Dong Islet, Pearl Islet, or Ao Islet. It serves as a sentinel in the waters between Jincheng and Lieyu, standing firm like a pillar in the flow, hence the name "Jian Gong Ti Zhu." During low tide, in addition to seeing the rich biodiversity of the intertidal zone, visitors can climb Jian Gong Islet along the stone path, which is why it is also referred to as the "Moses Parting the Sea of Kinmen." The statue of Koxinga (Zheng Chenggong) on the island faces another statue of him on Gulangyu Island in Xiamen, and the towering "Oyster Man" installations along both sides of the stone path are popular spots for tourists' photos!
