Guest House Introduction
The Guesthouse is located at the foothill of the southern Ta Wu Mountain and the Xiong Mountain, serving as a cavernous guesthouse carved into granite. It was the most famous reception venue for foreign guests during the military government era in Kinmen, completed in 1980, and is known as the "Underground Hilton." The Guesthouse has a total of 31 rooms, situated within a 320-meter-long tunnel, with two rooms preserved as they were: one being the room where former Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew stayed, and the other, room "018," where Teresa Teng frequently stayed during her visits to Kinmen to boost morale. The first floor lobby features exhibits on "military defense facilities" and an "introduction to the Guesthouse," showcasing military landscapes such as railblocks, anti-air drop stakes, barbed wire, and minefields, reflecting the environment of military readiness during the military government era. The second floor is themed around "morale boosting," displaying photos and videos of Teresa Teng's visits to Kinmen.
