Da Fang Food Co., Ltd. (Da Fang Tofu) Introduction
The first Taoyuan Top Ten Souvenirs features a master-level gift set of handmade black tofu. The renowned Da Fang tofu, which has appeared in the third and fourth Taoyuan Top Ten Souvenirs, is made from food-grade non-GMO soybeans and is crafted entirely by hand. It undergoes at least four rounds of rapid freezing and braising, resulting in a dense, delicious, and chewy texture that is a favorite among tourists. The "Nostalgic Snacks" shop received the Taoyuan Golden Award in 2008, and the "Dessert Delicacies" shop earned it in 2010. The Da Fang Happiness Peach Blossom Garden gift box has been passed down for four generations and over a century. Its contents include a box of Tung flower egg beans, a bottle of Kanjin fermented tofu, and vacuum-packed handmade black tofu (four boxes from the master-level tofu artisan and two packs of fresh tofu). In 2008, it was awarded as one of Taiwan's top fifteen souvenirs by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and in 2010, it passed the vacuum commercial sterilization test by the Food Industry Research and Development Institute, receiving health department approval for regular temperature sales of vacuum-packed yellow soybean food (one of three in Taiwan, the only one in northern Taiwan). The sixth Taoyuan Top Ten Souvenirs is the Da Fang Purple Butterfly Gift Box, and the seventh and eighth Taoyuan Top Ten Souvenirs feature the Da Fang pottery jar (Peach Happiness).
