Heron House Introduction
The "egret" is commonly known as the "white crane" among Hakka people. In our town, in the areas of Ailan and Lancheng, there are lush mixed forests that are renowned for being home to Taiwan's largest egret paradise. Occasionally, flocks of egrets can be seen soaring in the sky, creating a spectacular sight as they hunt for small fish, insects, and grains. These migratory birds travel south in the autumn to escape the cold and then return north in the spring to breed, with their numbers once reaching as high as 60,000 to 70,000, which is truly remarkable. This is also a distinctive feature of the egret's home. We sincerely urge those who come here to observe the birds to appreciate and protect them, and to avoid disturbing them!
