Heron House Introduction
The "heron" is commonly referred to as the "white crane" by Hakka people. In our town, in the Ailan and Lancheng areas, there are lush mixed forests that boast the reputation of being home to Taiwan's largest heron bird paradise. Sometimes, herons can be seen soaring in groups, creating a stunning spectacle as they hunt for small fish, insects, and grains. A flock of migratory birds flies south in the fall to escape the cold and returns north in the spring to nest and breed, with numbers reaching as high as 60,000 to 70,000, creating a magnificent sight. This is also a significant characteristic of the heron’s home. We sincerely urge visitors who come to bird watch here to observe, care for, and not disturb them!
