Heron Home Introduction
The "egret" is commonly referred to as "white crane" by Hakka people. In this town's Ailan and Lancheng, there are lush mixed forests that hold the reputation of being the largest egret bird paradise in Taiwan. Occasionally, flocks of egrets fill the sky, creating a spectacular sight as they feed on small fish, insects, and grains. A group of migratory birds flies south in autumn to escape the cold and returns north in the following spring to nest and breed, once reaching numbers of 60,000 to 70,000, creating a grand spectacle. This is also a significant feature of the egret's home. We sincerely urge visitors who come to birdwatch to appreciate, care for, and not disturb them!
