Egret's Home Introduction
The "egret" is commonly referred to as the "white crane" by the Hakka people. In our town, in the areas of Ailan and Lancheng, there are lush mixed forests that are home to the largest egret paradise in Taiwan. Occasionally, flocks of egrets fill the sky, creating a spectacular sight as they hunt for small fish, insects, and grains. These migratory birds head south for the winter in autumn and return north to nest and breed in spring, with numbers reaching up to 60,000 or 70,000, a truly remarkable phenomenon. This is also a significant feature of the egret's habitat. We sincerely call upon birdwatchers visiting this area to enjoy, cherish, and not disturb these magnificent creatures!
