Renjia Liangmian (Original Store) Introduction

Established in 1959 in a military dependents' village in Pingtung, the time-honored Pingtung Ren Family Cold Noodles now has 6 locations across Taiwan. The owner mentioned that Sichuan people are skilled at using sesame sauce to mix with various dishes, including noodles, liangpi, and shredded chicken. Cold noodles were virtually unknown in early Taiwan until individuals from other provinces introduced this dish. There is no secret recipe for cold noodles; common seasonings found in every household's kitchen make up the sauce, with the key being the ratio. The sauce consists of diluted sesame paste, vinegar, sweet soy sauce made from a mixture of soy sauce and sugar, authentic Sichuan spicy oil that is both numbing and pungent, along with garlic sauce, peanut powder, sesame oil, and more, creating a delightful flavor that passes from one generation to another.
