Ako Cultural Center Introduction
The A-kong Local Cultural Center in Pingtung, known as the "Hsieh Family Ancestral Hall," was built in 1880. In 2001, it was selected as one of Taiwan's Historical Buildings. In 2004, the government designated this ancestral hall as a county designated historic site. The "Hsieh Family Ancestral Hall" is an important cultural asset for the Chonglan area and is also a key contributor to the establishment of the A-kong Local Cultural Center. The purpose of the cultural center is to preserve and expand the heritage of the "Hsieh Family Ancestral Hall," set up a local history museum and a creative workshop, organize community arts and cultural performances, and provide training courses for tour guides. It collaborates with the Chonglan Community Development Association in Pingtung County to promote community total development and transform the Chonglan Eco Park into a smoke-free park. The "A-kong Local Cultural Center" maximizes the reuse of the historic building, promotes creative cultural industries, and fosters community development, achieving a cultural living circle that integrates Pingtung County and City for urban tourism marketing.
