Donglongtang Herbal Jelly Introduction
The Donglong Tang Health Shop next to Donglong Temple is renowned for its signature product, "Gui Lin Gao" (herbal jelly). "Gui Lin Gao" is a health food traditionally used by the nobility of the Qing Dynasty in China, typically enjoyed as a dessert after meals. Traditionally, authentic Gui Lin Gao is mainly found in Hong Kong or Mainland China, and in Taiwan, it is often imported from these regions. To allow Taiwanese people to easily enjoy the most authentic Gui Lin Gao, several years ago, the young owner, Mr. Shi Yixian, traveled to Mainland China to learn the official preparation techniques from Master Jian Youxin, who is over eighty years old. He experienced thirty to forty unsuccessful attempts before mastering the craft.
