Dong Long Tang Gui Ling Gao Introduction
The Donglong Hall Health Shop next to Donglong Temple is renowned for its signature product, "Gui Ling Gao" (herbal jelly). "Gui Ling Gao" is a health food traditionally used by the aristocracy of the Qing Dynasty, typically enjoyed as a dessert after meals. Authentic Gui Ling Gao is mostly available in Hong Kong or mainland China, while in Taiwan, it is imported from these regions. To allow Taiwanese people to easily savor the most authentic Gui Ling Gao, many years ago, the young owner Mr. Shi Yixian traveled to mainland China to learn the traditional preparation techniques from the over eighty-year-old master Jian Youxin from Northeast China, undergoing around thirty to forty trials and errors along the way.
