Donglongtang Turtle Jelly Introduction
Donglong Hall Health Pavilion, located next to Donglong Temple, is renowned for its signature product, "Gui Ling Gao." Gui Ling Gao is a traditional health food used by the nobility in the Qing Dynasty, typically enjoyed as a dessert after meals. Authentic versions of Gui Ling Gao are primarily available in Hong Kong or Mainland China, with most in Taiwan being imported from these regions. To allow Taiwanese people to easily taste the most authentic Gui Ling Gao, young owner Mr. Shih Yi-Hsin traveled to Mainland China years ago to learn the traditional crafting techniques from an over eighty-year-old master craftsman, Jian Youxin. He experienced thirty to forty attempts that ended in failure.
