Donglongtang Turtle Jelly Introduction
Next to Donglong Temple, Donglong Tang Health Shop features its signature product, "Gui Ling Gao," which is highly praised by customers. "Gui Ling Gao" is a health food once enjoyed by the nobility of the Qing Dynasty, typically served as a dessert after meals. Traditionally, authentic Gui Ling Gao can mainly be found in Hong Kong or mainland China, as the ones available in Taiwan are mostly imported from these regions. To allow Taiwanese people to easily taste the most authentic Gui Ling Gao, many years ago, the young owner Mr. Shih Yi-Chin traveled to mainland China to learn the traditional making techniques from Mr. Jian You-Xin, an over eighty-year-old master from Northeast China. He endured thirty to forty attempts and failures during his learning process.
