Zhenhai Park Introduction
Chenhai Park, located next to Chenhai Temple in Donggang Township, is a park that combines forests, grassy areas, beaches, and the ocean. In the early days of the temple's construction (around 1987), Chenhai Park was originally a barren beach where no visitors stayed under the blazing sun. After more than a decade, a group of volunteers from Chenhai Temple invested time and effort to cultivate the area, resulting in the lush shade we see today. With government funding in 1995, Chenhai Park was officially established! The park is situated in the hometown of the king boat used in the Donggang Wang Boat Festival, a tradition that has been passed down for over a century. Every year during the lunar month of September in the years of the Ox, Dragon, Goat, and Dog, the Donggang Donglong Temple’s Peace Festival (commonly known as the King Boat Festival) is held here, featuring two major Taoist rituals: "Water Invitation" and "Sending the King."
