Zhenhai Park Introduction
Zhenghai Park, located next to the Zhenghai Temple in Donggang Township, is a park that combines forest, grassland, beach, and ocean. In the early days of the Zhenghai Temple's establishment (around 1987), Zhenghai Park was originally just a barren beach. Under the blazing sun, no visitors would stay. After more than ten years, a group of volunteers from the Zhenghai Temple invested both time and money to cultivate the area, leading to today's lush and shady trees. With government funding in 1995, Zhenghai Park was officially established! Due to its location, Zhenghai Park is the hometown of the king boat used in the Donggang Wang Boat Festival, a tradition that has lasted over a hundred years. Every third year during the lunar month of September in the years of the Ox, Dragon, Sheep, and Dog, the Donggang Donglong Temple hosts the Peace Festival (commonly known as the Wang Boat Festival), where the two major Taoist rituals of "Inviting Water" and "Sending the King" are held.
