Zhenhai Park Introduction
Zhenhai Park, located next to Zhenhai Temple in Donggang Township, is a park that combines forests, grasslands, beaches, and the ocean. In the early years of Zhenhai Temple's establishment (around the 76th year of the Republic of China), it was originally a bare beach, where no visitors wanted to linger under the scorching sun. After more than ten years, a group of volunteers from Zhenhai Temple invested time and effort to cultivate the land, resulting in the lush greenery we see today. With government funding in the 84th year of the Republic of China, Zhenhai Park was finally officially established! The park is located in the hometown of the king boat for the Donggang Wang Boat Festival, a tradition that has been passed down for over a century. Every time in the years of the Ox, Dragon, Sheep, and Dog, during the ninth month of the lunar calendar, the Donggang Donglong Temple holds the biennial Peace Ceremony (commonly known as the King’s Welcome or Wang Boat Festival), where the two main Taoist rituals of "Water Invitation and King Sending" take place.
