One Grain Studio Introduction
I have a dream of pursuing my ideals freely. I have a wish for limitless wisdom and creativity to create my own space. I have a commitment to take on the responsibility of passing down my culture. I am a traditional Amis woman with a kind heart, always willing to help others. At some point, I developed an inexplicable interest in traditional weaving that I could not resist. Weaving is an important cultural symbol in the Amis community; it is synonymous with the beauty of the Amis people and represents the wisdom passed down from our ancestors. Heritage is a heavy burden; it is also a responsibility, a promise to our ancestors, and a reminder to future generations. Only through continuous passing down can we achieve quality works. From traditional weaving to the weaving of the arrowroot plant, I have discovered the beauty within and realized that the wisdom of the Amis is truly breathtaking. As a craftsman dedicated to heritage, my attitude determines everything. I will continue to make efforts to promote Amis culture. Although the Amis have a matrilineal social structure, it is still a very rigorous society where ethics, harmony, and the maintenance of traditions remain essential components that sustain Amis culture.
