I have a dream of freely pursuing my ideals. I have a wish to possess endless wisdom and creativity to create my own space. I have a commitment to play a role in preserving my culture and fulfilling my responsibilities. I am a traditional Amis woman with a kind heart, always eager to help others. There was a time when I developed an inexplicable interest in traditional weaving, which I could not resist. Weaving is an important cultural symbol in Amis tradition; it is synonymous with the beauty of the Amis people and represents the wisdom passed down from our ancestors. Preservation is a heavy task; it is a responsibility and a commitment to our ancestors, as well as a reminder for future generations. Only through continuous preservation can we achieve quality works. From traditional weaving to the weaving of the ramie plant, I discovered their beauty and realized that the wisdom of the Amis is truly breathtaking. As a practitioner of craft preservation, my attitude determines everything. I will continue to promote and elevate Amis culture. Although the Amis have a matriarchal social structure, it remains a very rigorous society where ethics, harmony, and the maintenance of tradition are still essential components of Amis culture.
