One Grain Studio Introduction
I have a dream to pursue my ideals freely. I have a wish for endless wisdom and creativity to create my own space. I have a commitment to play a role in preserving my culture. I am a traditional Amis woman with a kind heart, always eager to help others. At one point, I developed an inexplicable interest in traditional weaving that I couldn't resist. Weaving is an important cultural symbol in Amis life; it represents the beauty of the Amis people and embodies the wisdom passed down from our ancestors. Preservation is a heavy task, a responsibility that is a promise to our ancestors and a reminder for future generations. Only through continuous preservation can we create quality works. From traditional fabric weaving to the weaving of the torch ginger, I discovered the beauty within and realized how breathtaking the wisdom of the Amis people is. As a practitioner of this craft, my attitude determines everything. I will continue to strive to promote Amis culture. Although the Amis society is matrilineal, it is still a very rigorous community, where ethics, harmony, and the maintenance of traditions are vital to sustaining Amis culture.
