A-Shui Workshop Introduction
A-Shui Workshop x Cultural Creative Dongtang 191, established in 2013, integrates local creative resources and energies from Taitung to emerge as a cultural creative platform, voicing the needs of local artists and developing hands-on experience courses to enhance public participation. With a combination of product exhibition and cultural space management, it injects new vitality into Taitung's cultural creative industry. Through A-Shui Workshop x Cultural Creative Dongtang 191, the aim is to create a space for Taitung artists to freely create and exchange, realizing artistic culture locally. A-Shui (Chen Zhengrui) centers his creations around indigenous spirit, expressed through wood carvings, metal sculptures, installation art, and commercial space transformations. In 2013, the A-Shui Workshop team launched the "Simple Living. Rediscover the Touch" series of products, combining driftwood with local elements and employing indigenous thinking to create simple and environmentally-friendly works, skillfully utilizing materials gifted by nature. This adds creativity and thoughtfulness to life in Taitung! Living in tune with the seasons reflects a new attitude for modern people, encouraging them to rethink their lives and their existence, and represents a long-standing desire for a return to nature and embrace of the land. As summer approaches, A-Shui Workshop invites you to closely experience the local life of Taitung; step onto Taitung’s land and savor a slow-food journey prepared by the warmth of the local community and the changing seasons!
