Original Flavor Craft Settlement (Taitung Sugar Factory) Introduction
【Brand Ata (Qkata)】 "Qkata" is named after the formal term for patterned beads in the Paiwan language. "Qkata culture" is a collective of indigenous women committed to preserving traditional patterns and techniques through collaboration. By combining different craft specialties, they tell the stories of each qkata pattern, infusing creative ideas into daily life, extending traditional craftsmanship, and enhancing cultural insight and interesting perspectives on traditional life, embodying the spirit of giving and sharing. Located within the Taitung Sugar Factory, the R Original Craft Village gathers local indigenous workshops to collectively voice tribal culture in the idle spaces of the factory, showcasing the "tribal artisans" of Taitung's local craft culture. The presence of the R Craft Village brings the fragrance of woven wax gourd leaves, the warmth of handcrafted glass beads, the patterns of fabric weaving, the scent of wood shavings, and songs from the tribe. The warehouse transforms into a vibrant space for showcasing innovative tribal handicrafts, based on a "sharing and mutual assistance" model that constructs a "social enterprise" concept of collaborative economy in today's social environment.
