Original Flavor Craft Settlement (Taitung Sugar Factory) Introduction
【Brand Ata (Qkata)】 "Qkata" is named after the formal term in the Paiwan language for patterned beads. The "Qkata culture" is a collective of indigenous women dedicated to preserving traditional designs and techniques. By combining expertise in various crafts, they explore the stories of each qkata (Qkata) pattern, using creative ideas from daily life to continue traditional craftsmanship and the production of cultural artifacts and patterns, enhancing cultural significance and offering an interesting perspective on traditional living. Located in the Taitung Sugar Factory, the R Craft Village is where Qkata culture gathers local indigenous workshops to voice tribal culture within the unused spaces of the Taitung Sugar Factory, showcasing the "tribal artisan" space of Taitung's local craft culture. With the establishment of the R Craft Village, there is the aroma of pandan leaves weaving, the warmth of fired glass beads, the patterns of fabric weaving, the scent of wood shavings, and the songs from the tribe. The warehouse has transformed into a vibrant exhibition space for tribal handmade creative products, fostering a "sharing and mutual assistance" model for cooperative economics within today's social environment, embodying the concept of a "social enterprise."
