This is the Original Flavor Craft Settlement (within Taitung Sugar Factory). Introduction
**Brand Ata (Kata)** "Kata" is named after the formal term "qkata" in the ancient Paiwan language, which refers to beads with patterns. The "Kata Culture" is a collective of Indigenous women committed to preserving traditional designs and techniques through a cooperative model. By combining different craft specialties, they narrate the stories behind each qkata (Kata) pattern, infusing creativity into daily life while continuing traditional craftsmanship and production methods for cultural artifacts and patterns. This initiative aims to enhance cultural significance and offer engaging perspectives on traditional lifestyles, embodying the spirit of giving and sharing. Located within the Taitung Sugar Factory, this R Original Craft Settlement brings together local Indigenous workshops under the Kata culture banner. It utilizes the idle spaces of the sugar factory to amplify tribal culture, showcasing the local craft scene of Taitung through a "tribal artisan" environment. Thanks to the presence of the R Craft Settlement, there is now the aroma of woven cormorant leaves, the warmth of handmade glass beads, textured fabrics, and the scent of wood shavings, accompanied by songs from the tribe. The warehouse has transformed into a vibrant exhibition space for tribal handmade creative products, fostering a "sharing and mutual aid" model that underpins the cooperative economy of a "social enterprise" concept in today's societal environment.
