Raw Flavor Craft Settlement (Taitung Sugar Factory) Introduction
【Brand Ata (Qkata)】 "Qkata" is named after the formal term in the Paiwan language for patterned beads. The "Qkata culture" is a collaborative group of indigenous women dedicated to preserving traditional motifs and techniques, combining various crafts to tell the story of each qkata pattern. With creative ideas rooted in everyday life, they continue traditional craftsmanship and the production forms of cultural artifacts, enriching the understanding of cultural meanings and traditional lifestyles in interesting ways, embodying the spirit of giving and sharing. Located in the Taitung Sugar Factory, this R Original Craft Settlement gathers local indigenous workshops to voice the cultural heritage of the tribes within the idle space of the sugar factory, showcasing the "tribal artisans" aspect of Taitung's local craft culture. Thanks to the presence of this R Craft Settlement, there is now the fragrance of woven ti leaves, the warmth from the firing of glass beads, the patterns of woven fabric, the scent of wood shavings, and songs from the tribes. The warehouse has been transformed into a vibrant space for displaying tribal handcrafted creative products, built on a "sharing and mutual assistance" model that embodies collaborative economics within today's social environment, creating a concept of "social enterprise."
