Kadi Bu Cultural Park Introduction
Near the Zhiben Train Station, the Katipuh Tribal Traditional Cultural Park is located close by. The park features a lookout tower, a Barakwan (Katipuh Youth Center), the ancestral houses of the three major clans (Mavaliw, Pakaruku, Ruvaniaw), and a Dagufan (Youth Gathering Place), among other traditional buildings. Since these traditional structures are still important venues for gatherings and activities of the Puyuma people, visitors are not allowed to enter. Additionally, there is a multi-functional activity center that showcases indigenous artifacts and historical introductions. Visitors can make advance reservations for guided tours and DIY experiences through the "Zhiben Katipuh Tribe" Facebook fan page. The tour guides will help participants gain a deeper understanding of Puyuma history and culture, visiting various religious sites that are integrated into indigenous life. Visitors can also appreciate traditional crafts created by local residents, which can even be purchased as unique souvenirs. Furthermore, one can taste locally grown sugar apples or visit local dining establishments to enjoy fresh and natural indigenous cuisine. The delicious dishes, accompanied by lively indigenous music and dance, create a memorable experience. A gentle reminder: the Katipuh Cultural Park's opening hours depend on the tribe, and most buildings must adhere to indigenous etiquette; if entry is restricted for visitors, women, and children, please do not enter!
