Kending Cultural Park Introduction
Not far from Zhiben Railway Station, the Katip tribal traditional cultural park is located nearby. The park features observation towers, Baraguan (Katip Youth Hall), the ancestral halls of the three major clans (Mavaliw, Pakaruku, Ruvaniaw), and Dagu Fan (Youth Gathering Place), among other traditional structures. Since these buildings are important venues for the gatherings and activities of the Puyuma people, visitors are not allowed to enter. There is also a multi-functional activity center that showcases indigenous artifacts and historical introductions. Guided tours and DIY craft experiences can be reserved in advance via the "Zhiben Katip Tribal" Facebook fan page. The guides will lead visitors to learn about the history and culture of the Puyuma people, visit various religious sacred sites integrated into indigenous life, and appreciate traditional crafts created by local residents, which can even be purchased as unique souvenirs. Visitors can also taste local custard apples or visit local eateries to enjoy fresh and natural indigenous delicacies. The delicious dishes, accompanied by lively indigenous music and dance, will leave a lasting impression. A small reminder: the Katip cultural park's opening hours depend on the tribal schedule, and some buildings must adhere to indigenous etiquette. If entry is not allowed for visitors, women, or children, please do not enter!
