Zhiben Hot Spring Introduction
In the steaming hot springs, gazing at the distant mountain mist, Taitung not only offers the ocean, but its mountains and hot springs can also soothe the soul. Zhiben Hot Springs is famous for its hot spring baths throughout Taiwan. In earlier days, the hot spring water flowed from the riverbed of Zhiben Creek, and the abundant hot spring resources have led to the development of hot spring baths since the Japanese colonial period, establishing public bathhouses. Today, it has become a renowned hot spring town filled with various hot spring hotels and well-developed facilities, making it a hot spring paradise away from urban noise. The hot spring water at Zhiben is colorless and tasteless, with crystal-clear quality. After soaking, one can feel the circulation of blood and a sense of overall relaxation. It is suitable for visits year-round, providing a very relaxing and therapeutic experience. After soaking, there are also attractions nearby for outdoor activities. The unique valley topography has created many wondrous natural landscapes, such as the misty Baoyu Waterfall, the tranquil Qingjue Temple, and the ecologically rich Zhiben Forest Recreation Area. Additionally, this area is home to the Puyuma people, where visitors can experience indigenous culture, taste traditional foods, and various local delicacies, feeling the unique charm of Eastern Taiwan.
