Zhiben Hot Springs Introduction
In the misty hot springs, gazing at the distant mountain ranges, Taitung offers not only the sea but also mountains and hot springs that can soothe the soul. Zhiben Hot Springs is famous for its hot springs throughout Taiwan. The hot spring water has been flowing from the riverbed of Zhiben Creek since early times, and the abundant hot spring resources have made Zhiben a developed hot spring area since the Japanese occupation, building public baths and eventually becoming a well-known hot spring town with numerous hotels and a complete infrastructure—a perfect retreat from the urban hustle and bustle. The hot spring water at Zhiben is colorless and tasteless, and the clear quality of the water allows one to feel invigorated and refreshed after soaking. It's suitable for visits all year round, providing a relaxing and therapeutic experience. After soaking, there are also attractions nearby for exploration, where the unique canyon topography creates many fascinating natural landscapes, such as the misty Baoyu Waterfall, the tranquil Qingjue Temple, and the ecologically rich Zhiben Forest Recreational Area. Additionally, this area is a gathering place for the Puyuma people, where visitors can experience indigenous culture, taste traditional foods, and various unique dishes, feeling the unique charm of Eastern Taiwan.
