Fuchang Restaurant Introduction
Located on Pingxi Old Street, the simple and unpretentious "Fuchang Restaurant" has been in operation since 1957, famous for its authentic and simple local cuisine. It is a favored gathering place for parties and celebrations in the area. Formerly known as "Yongge Lou," Fuchang Restaurant specializes in banquet-style Taiwanese cuisine and was once a dedicated banquet service during the gold mining era. The chef is adept at presenting authentic Taiwanese flavors, and the dishes offered are as rich as those at traditional banquets. Notably, the "Three Delicacies of Taro" is a dish rarely seen in ordinary restaurants; its nostalgic, rich flavors are sure to make it a memorable experience. Additionally, Pingxi is renowned for its abundant "arrow bamboo," and if you visit around late autumn to early winter, about November, you must try the fresh "Pingxi Arrow Bamboo." Selected for its tenderness and quickly stir-fried with fermented black beans and spicy bean paste, it is crispy, refreshing, and a perfect accompaniment to rice—definitely not to be missed! One of the most commonly seen dishes at banquets, "Buddha Jumps Over the Wall," is also highly recommended by food lovers. Made with chicken broth, it includes marinated and fried pork ribs, bamboo shoots, fried quail eggs, imitation shark fin, and various ingredients, creating a rich flavor and a savory broth that is aromatic and irresistible right from the moment it is served.
