Fuchang Restaurant Introduction
Located on Pingxi Old Street, the simple and unpretentious "Fuchang Restaurant" has been in operation since 1957, famous for its authentic and rustic local snacks, and is a favorite dining place for gatherings, celebrations, and banquets in the area. Formerly known as "Yonggelou," Fuchang Restaurant specializes in traditional Taiwanese banquet cuisine and was once a dedicated venue for banquets during the golden age of the mining industry. The head chef serves up a delightful array of authentic Taiwanese flavors, and the dishes offered are as plentiful as those at a banquet; especially noteworthy is the "Tarokun Sanxian," which is rarely found in regular restaurants and evokes a nostalgic and rich traditional taste with every bite. Additionally, Pingxi is renowned for producing "Arrow Bamboo," and if you visit in late autumn to early winter, around November, you must try the fresh and local "Pingxi Arrow Bamboo." Selected tender arrow bamboo, stir-fried quickly with fermented black soybean and spicy bean paste, is crisp and delicious, making it a dish you cannot miss! The "Buddha Jumps Over the Wall," commonly seen at banquets, is also highly recommended by food enthusiasts. This signature dish features a chicken broth base, with marinated and fried pork ribs, bamboo shoots, fried quail eggs, imitation shark fin, and various other ingredients, creating a rich flavor and a fragrant broth that is sure to tantalize your taste buds as soon as it is served.
