Lingjiao Station Introduction
Located in Pingxi District, New Taipei City, it is a railway station on the Pingxi Line of the Taiwan Railway Administration. Established during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty by a person from Xinghua, Lin Guohua, it was named Lingjiao because it is situated on the south side of Jiangziliaoshan at an elevation of over 700 meters. In this area with both mountains and water, there's certainly no shortage of fun places to visit; Lingjiao Waterfall is located near the station, making it a great choice to take a break and enjoy the beautiful waterfall scenery. In the 8th year of the Taisho era (1919), the Taiwan Yang Ming Mining Company began constructing the railway from Sandiaoling to Jingtong (now Jingtong), named the Pingxi Line, which was completed and opened for use in the 10th year of the Taisho era (1921). Initially, it was a dedicated line for the Taiwan Yang Ming Mining Company, solely for coal transportation, until the 4th year of the Showa era (1929) when it was acquired by the Railway Department as a public line and passenger services were added. On December 15, 1962, it was renamed Lingjiao Station. At the beginning, it was a third-class station, reduced to a simple station in 1986, and the original wooden station building was reconstructed into the station building seen today. In 1991, it was further downgraded to a flag station and later managed by Ruifang Station. The bay-shaped platform is quite beautiful, and the idol drama "Ms. Screw Must Marry" was filmed here. Additionally, the remnants of the coal transportation facilities beside the Lingjiao railway station platform and the renovated museum of the mining dormitory from the Japanese occupation period hold significant historical value.
