Jingtong Old Street Ruby Mine Workers' Cafeteria Introduction
"Red Ruby Miner's Cafeteria" is located on Jingtong Old Street in Pingxi District, New Taipei City, and was formerly the welfare society for miners at the Shidi coal mine. The owners of "Red Ruby Miner's Cafeteria" aim to recreate the mining atmosphere of the early Republic of China period, adorning the cafeteria with large historic photos of early miners, signs for tobacco and alcohol sales, and old movie posters, thus creating a rich retro ambiance. In addition, they offer classic traditional dishes such as miner's set meals, railway bento, and noodle tea, which evoke nostalgia for many. Moreover, "Red Ruby Miner's Cafeteria" is adjacent to Jingtong Station; while dining inside the cafeteria, guests can gaze outside to see the old railway that has been used since the early Republic of China. If the mood strikes, you can also step onto the tracks and climb the stairs to explore the ruins of the Shidi coal mine for a nostalgic journey. The love for Jingtong Railway, Shidi Mining Village, and Pingxi Mountain Town all begins at "Red Ruby Miner's Cafeteria."
