Polar Blue Spot Introduction
Located next to Baisha Bay at the 23.5K mark on Taiwan's Highway 2, the former abandoned Coast Guard barracks has been transformed into "Extreme North Blue Point." This spot is flanked by Linshanbi on the left and Fugui Cape on the right, facing the ocean with excellent scenery. Local artists are invited to hold art exhibitions, and a creative small farmer's market is held every Sunday. Through a series of activities, it supports the development of local cultural and creative brands, creating a new hub for local cultural and humanistic activities on the northern coast and enhancing the visibility of cultural and creative arts in the area. Previously an important military fortress on the northern coast, it is managed by the Northeast and Yilan Coast National Scenic Area Administration under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, having been completed in mid-October 2016. As it is situated at the northernmost point of Taiwan, this site is named "Extreme North Blue Point." In September 2017, it was taken over for management by the dessert brand Mishti.
