YouRiver Book Introduction
Located by the banks of the Tamsui River, between the MRT station and the ferry terminal, it was established at the end of 2006. The shop owners are a poet and a film critic, which makes the collection particularly focused on poetry and film; especially noteworthy is a special section for rare books from the shop owner's private collection that are displayed but not for sale. Primarily offering new books, categories include literature, film, ecology, travel, and more. It also features a café and occasionally hosts film screenings and discussions, book launch events, poetry readings, concerts by independent musicians, and various discussions on social issues. This space seeks to retain a voice of literature and poetry amidst the increasing commercialization of the bustling riverside.
