The owner, Wu Yizheng, recalls entering the coffee roasting business over 30 years ago, a time when very few understood the art of coffee. Driven by his passion and vision, he persisted through the booming era of bubble tea, capitalizing on the foundational strength developed in coffee and beverage raw materials to innovate and transform, leading to the current coffee beverage and dining retail landscape. Many stories of Chiayi people have taken place here, where a cup of coffee accompanies countless cherished memories. With over 30 years of experience, Wu is regarded as a coffee roasting expert in Chiayi, ensuring that the coffee beans on the shelf are always freshly roasted within seven days. He personally oversees the selection of raw materials and brewing equipment. Here, it's not just about selling coffee, but creating a space to share and enjoy it. The high, spacious, and bright venue invites patrons to engage in joyful conversations while sipping coffee that evokes genuine feelings. In recent years, Shangdao Coffee has led the local coffee culture trend, offering various educational courses aimed at assisting small farmers in Chiayi with their roasting techniques, brand packaging, and marketing strategies. The goal is to expand the entire coffee culture industry in Chiayi alongside like-minded small farmers. They frequently host coffee aesthetics sharing sessions, believing that, like tea ceremonies, the process of brewing with exquisite coffee equipment is a form of artistic living.
