UCC Coffee Introduction
In a nostalgic aroma of coffee, Shangdao Coffee was born in 1979 through a series of circumstances. Here, you can listen to the evolution of the beverage industry in Taiwan, taste freshly roasted single-origin coffees, and appreciate the changes of the times. It is a classic of Chiayi and a reflection of continuous progress. The owner, Wu Yizheng, recalls stepping into the coffee roasting business over 30 years ago when very few people understood the art of coffee. Driven by his passion and vision, he persevered, experiencing the boom of bubble tea while leveraging the strong foundation of coffee and beverage raw materials accumulated over the years to innovate and transform, leading to today's coffee beverage and dining department stores. Many stories of Chiayi residents surely unfold here, where a cup of coffee accompanies countless beautiful memories. After over 30 years of expertise, Wu Yizheng is known as a Chiayi coffee roasting master who insists that the coffee beans on the shelves are freshly roasted within the last seven days. He personally oversees the selection of raw materials and brewing equipment. What is sold here is not just coffee, but a space for sharing and savoring it. The spacious and bright store allows visitors to connect and bond over their drinks meaningfully. In recent years, they have led a local coffee culture trend by offering various teaching courses aimed at helping small farmers in Chiayi develop their roasting techniques, brand packaging, and marketing management. Collaborating with like-minded small farmers, they aim to expand the entire coffee culture industry in Chiayi. Periodically, they hold coffee aesthetics sharing sessions, where the process of brewing using exquisite coffee equipment becomes a form of art, combining visual, olfactory, gustatory, and literary enjoyment. What flows down the throat and is tasted is a rich and gentle aroma, a memory of life for many Chiayi residents. Recommended dishes: Hand-brewed coffee, siphon coffee.
