Tsai's Handmade Q Bun (Hong Yang Food Store) Introduction
Surrounded by Taocheng, the Stone Monkey initially created cute pig-shaped steamed buns out of a sudden idea, as his son was picky eaters, weak and had a poor appetite. Thus, these adorable little pigs began to appear on dining tables across Taiwan, becoming a beloved snack made with love by mothers for their children. The "Chiayi Le Tao Tao" buns are inspired by the former name of Chiayi - Taocheng. The old city gates, East, South, West, and North, connect to form the shape of a peach, hence the creation of these peach-shaped buns to symbolize the imagery of Taocheng. Inside the peach-shaped buns, there is a carved Stone Monkey, representing Chiayi, making them quite cute and interesting! Recommended souvenir: Chiayi Le Tao Tao.
